AMES - 8" C400 RPA NRS LEAD FREE
8 inch lead-free C400 from Ames, a reduced pressure assembly with non-rising stem (NRS) shutoff valves, part number C400N-8. Its job is protecting potable supplies from fire protection systems and other non-potable water. A quick-access closure sleeve on the stainless body opens to the check modules, which use torsion springs for low pressure loss. The relief valve is stainless and mounted on the bottom. Ames gives a 175 psi maximum working pressure and a 33 to 140°F water range, and says the design is about 70 percent lighter than traditional assemblies.
