What type of backflow preventer is the Wilkins 375?

The Wilkins 375 is a reduced pressure assembly (RPA): the 375 and 375XL cover 1/2" to 2", and the 375A and 375AST cover 2-1/2" to 10", with DA detector versions. Reduced pressure assemblies are used where the hazard is high (toxic), because the relief valve vents water if the checks fail. Detector versions add a metered bypass, mostly on fire sprinkler lines, so the water company can see unauthorized use.
